Dead or Alive 3 is a fast-paced fighting game that adds sharper mechanics and visual polish to its predecessor. Choose from a roster of returning and new fighters to take part in brutal one-on-one matches or team-based battles. The single-player mode includes story-driven objectives and a variety of stages while the four-player multiplayer supports competitive or cooperative play. Moves feel more fluid with refined combo systems and environmental interactions that let you use the arena to gain an edge. The game introduces Genra a cyborg created through DOATEC’s Omega Project who becomes a key figure in the tournament. With improved animations and dynamic camera angles fights look more cinematic than before. Released in 2001 it still holds a 10/10 score from one community vote for its punchy gameplay and character depth. The Wholesome tag might seem odd for a game full of martial arts mayhem but fans appreciate its focus on clean combat and fair match pacing.

Storyline

The hero ninja Ryu Hayabusa put a stop to the evil doings of Tengu, but it was too late to stop him from triggering a massive worldwide collapse. A dense cloud covered the entire planet in a shroud of darkness and fear. DOATEC has gone astray, turning into the hunting grounds for power-hungry scam artists. This is when DOATEC's development department (a fortress for state-of-the-art military technology) witnesses the success of a genius. Following Project Alpha and Project Epsilon, the ever ambitious scientist, Dr. Victor Donovan completes the Omega Project, producing a new superhuman: Genra. The man, who was once leader of the Hajin Mon ninja of the Mugen Tenshin clan, is no longer human, but a force of singular and unprecedented capabilities known as Omega. To test the subject Omega's skills, DOATEC announced the third Dead or Alive World Combat Championship.
