Diamond no Kuni no Alice: Wonderful Mirror World is a visual novel that follows Alice as she navigates a fractured timeline in the Country of Diamonds. This sequel spins off from earlier events in the series where Alice’s relationships with key characters never progressed. Stranded in a version of the world where her past is erased and the roles are shifted, she must rebuild connections while facing heightened dangers. The story unfolds through dialogue choices and exploration, blending familiar characters with altered dynamics. The handheld format keeps the experience contained but visually detailed, with branching paths shaping Alice’s journey. The game stands out for its bold narrative detour and tense atmosphere. Without trusted allies or clear guidance, Alice’s isolation deepens the stakes. Fan forums note the game’s 7.8/10 rating on niche VN sites for its creative reimagining and character development. While the PlayStation Portable version feels dated by modern standards, the mystery of the rewritten world and moral dilemmas in decision-making keep it engaging for series completists and visual novel enthusiasts. The Country of Diamonds here is colder, more unpredictable, and packed with consequences.
This game is based on the premise that Alice first stayed with Julius at the Clock Tower in the Country of Hearts and then with Nightmare at the Tower of Clover in the Country of Clover and never fell in love. The game starts with a ‘move’ sending Alice alone to the Country of Diamonds. The Country of Diamonds is set in the past, and while Alice recognizes most of the role holders, no one remembers her. There is no Peter White to guide her, and the Country of Diamonds is a lot more dangerous than either the Country of Clover or the Country of Hearts.
