Flood is a 1990 platformer from Bullfrog Productions where you play Quiffy, a frog-like creature navigating submerged tunnels. The goal is to reach the surface while avoiding hazards in each level. You jump, swim, and use Quiffy’s ability to stick to walls and ceilings to bypass obstacles. The game’s straightforward controls and puzzle-like level design make it easy to pick up but tricky to master. The standout feature is the wall-climbing mechanic, which adds a layer of verticality uncommon in early 90s platformers. While the pixel art and chiptune soundtrack are dated, the core gameplay holds up for quick sessions. Bullfrog would go on to make bigger hits, but Flood shows their early knack for blending creativity with simplicity. A brief but solid entry in the genre.
