Ghost Squad Evolution is a fast paced arcade shooter that follows the 2004 original. Released in late 2007 for arcade cabinets it keeps the same top down perspective but adds more weapons character outfits and challenge modes. Players can team up in co op or go head to head in multiplayer. The controls are straightforward with a focus on rapid action and waves of enemies. The main upgrades from the first game include expanded customization and difficulty options that cater to both casual players and high scorers. While it doesn’t reinvent the genre the extra content and tight gameplay make it a solid choice for fans of old school arcade shooters. The lack of a home port kept it niche but it remains a fun competitive experience in arcade settings.
