Goiken Muyou: Anarchy in the Nippon is a 3D fighting game built by former Virtua Fighter 2 developers. It drops the usual fireballs and jump button but keeps the core close quarters combat. Players can leap over downed opponents to land extra hits and use left right buttons to dodge sideways. The action plays out in a fixed arena with simple but smooth character animations. What sets it apart is the focus on footwork and timing. The side step dodge adds a layer of defense while the lack of ranged attacks forces players to think about positioning. Though forgotten by most it shows early experiments in 3D fighter mechanics before the genre evolved. Short matches keep the pace tight and rewards precise execution.
