KSS was a Japanese company that operated from 1988 until it went bankrupt in 2004. For most of its history under the name Kamakura Super Station Inc., it focused on anime studio services like production and translation. Between 1993 and 2001, the firm also made and released video games. The company has a total of 35 titles listed on PlayPile, with 34 published by them and 11 developed in-house. Their work spans only ten years, with 34 releases in the 1990s and just one game in the 2000s before their closure. Their catalog shows a heavy preference for sports games, which make up 14 of their titles. They also produced nine simulator games and nine strategy games. Fighting games were another major focus with eight releases, followed by five role-playing games. The Super Famicom was their primary platform, hosting 19 of their games. Seven titles appeared on the PlayStation, while five were on the PC-9800 Series. They also released games for the Sega Saturn, PlayStation Portable, and Game Boy, though these platforms had fewer releases. Quality data from PlayPile is limited to a single rated title. Majuu-ou: King of Demons holds an average IGDB rating of 79.6 out of 100. This places their only reviewed game in the good category. No other titles have been rated on the platform yet, so it is unclear if this represents a consistent trend across their entire library. Recent releases included Wizardry Chronicle in March 2001 and Goiken Muyou II in October 1998. Other notable entries from the late 1990s include Pro Wrestling Sengokuden 2 and Tattoon Master. After filing for bankruptcy in 2004, KSS sold its assets to Softgarage.
