You run a city in the sky trying to survive a war it didn’t start. How to Build a Flying City blends resource management with role-playing and narrative choices. As Miru, you’ll balance budgets, hire adventurers, and upgrade defenses while fending off imperial forces. Every decision affects your economy, alliances, and military readiness. The game shifts between base-building mechanics and character-driven storytelling, letting you customize your city’s identity through dialogue and recruitment. The mix of simulation and strategy stands out, offering depth without overwhelming complexity. Player communities highlight the freedom to approach challenges creatively, whether through diplomacy, brute force, or clever financial schemes. With a focus on adaptive gameplay and branching consequences, it’s a rebellious take on city-building that prioritizes flexibility over rigid formulas. The October 2024 release date gives fans time to prepare for its arrival on PC.
Dissatisfied with the taxes the empire is imposing, Miru, the mayor of Tisryle, activates the engines beneath her city and takes to the skies! Not wanting other cities to follow her example, the council that rules the empire immediately sends their armies to destroy Tisryle. Miru must build her forces, recruit new allies, and most importantly, make a whole ton of money if she wants to stand a chance.
