Incantation casts you as a fledgling wizard navigating side-scrolling levels filled with enemies and obstacles. Each stage requires collecting a set number of items while using spells discovered along the way. These spells vary in range and attack style letting you adapt to different threats. Some levels end with boss fights adding a layer of challenge beyond platforming. The game balances jump timing with spell management making every level a mix of reflexes and strategy. Released in 1996 this SNES title leans into early 90s platforming design with tight controls and colorful environments. While not widely discussed today its blend of magic-based combat and collectible goals offers a niche experience for retro fans. The simplicity of its spell system and straightforward level goals make it a quick but satisfying playthrough for those seeking a lesser-known SNES title.
In Incantation you are controlling a young wizard who has to complete several jump'n'run levels. Enemies are defeated by using different spells that can be found throughout the levels. Spells have different ranges and attack power. Before a level can be completed, a certain number of items has to be collected, and at the end of some levels, a boss-fight awaits the wizard.
