Kaze no Notam is a hot air balloon simulator where you steer a floating vessel through a whimsical world of floating landmasses and shifting skies. You control only vertical movement using a burner to rise or release heat to descend. Horizontal direction is entirely at the mercy of unpredictable wind currents that vary with altitude. A compass displays wind patterns at different heights letting you plan routes by layering through the atmosphere. Exploration hinges on reading these invisible streams and timing ascents or drops to reach distant islands or complete objectives. The game’s charm lies in its minimalist control scheme and deep strategic layering. Players must anticipate sudden shifts in wind to avoid crashing or drifting off course.
