Killzone HD is a shooter set in a future where humans colonized Helghan. Over time the settlers mutated and became the warlike Helghast now attacking the ISA controlled planet Vekta. As a member of the ISA you fight to defend against the invasion. The game offers single player missions and multiplayer modes including co op and split screen. A remaster of the 2004 PS2 original it brings 720p resolution improved textures MSAA filtering and better sound. Trophies track extra goals like kill streaks or completing objectives under pressure. The remaster sharpens visuals and smooths performance making the 2004 setting feel more grounded. Split screen co op for two players adds replay value for local sessions. The story is direct but effective focusing on steady combat over complex twists. With a 7.5 10 on Metacritic it remains a solid entry for the series. Updated graphics hold up on modern setups while retaining the original’s aggressive pacing. Standalone availability makes it a quick pick for PS3 owners who missed the trilogy bundle.

Storyline

During the era of space exploration, a faction of humans colonized the planet Helghan. In order to survive in the harsh environment, these people mutated to the point of no longer remaining human. They developed a passionate hatred for mankind, and eventually formed the Helghast Empire, attacking the planet Vekta controlled by the Interplanetary Strategic Alliance (ISA). As Helghast soldiers invade the planet's perimeter, the ISA forces are trying to hold the ground and find a way to stop them.
