"Perhaps that's the issue. Deep within all of this stuff, under layers and layers of outdated game design carried by the Lego brand, is a promising game. The writing and character direction is, by and large, excellent. At its best, the game is a celebration of Marvel, putting together characters from lore deep-dives with big-screen names like Captain America and Star-Lord. At its worst, it is a vague, opaque slog through hundreds of identical enemies and bad level design. Sadly, Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2 is more “stepping on lego bricks” than “excelsior.”"

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 lets you tear through time with a cast of Marvel characters in a game that balances action and creativity. Play as heroes from different eras to stop Kang the Conqueror’s plans to rewrite history. Fight through levels using power-ups, build structures with bricks, and swap between characters to solve puzzles. Co-op play supports up to four players locally or online with competitive battle modes. Split-screen lets you team up or take turns in the same session. The game’s strength lies in its mix of chaotic combat and time-bending missions. You’ll face off against classic villains while visiting iconic settings from Marvel’s past and future.
