Lode Runner 3-D brings the classic maze-running challenge into a pseudo-3D space. You navigate grid-based levels filled with gold to collect and monsters to avoid. Use ladders ropes and digging to create paths while outsmarting enemies. The camera shifts give a layered perspective letting you switch directions at key points. Most levels spiral upward forcing you to climb through increasingly complex layouts. The game spans five worlds each with five stages divided into four levels. To unlock new worlds you must collect five hidden cards in each previous set. Gold collection activates exit portals but later stages add new hazards and tools to master. Released in 1999 for Nintendo 64 it keeps the methodical pace of the original while adding vertical challenges. Players note the structured progression and the satisfaction of solving layered puzzles under pressure.
