About

Mainichi Issho is a PlayStation 3 simulation game that doubles as a daily entertainment show. Players engage with live broadcasts hosted by Toro Inoue and his partner Kuro, who present news segments about PlayStation games, pop culture, and local Japanese events. The experience blends scripted skits, interviews, and promotional content into a loose gameplay structure, with updates rolling out nearly every day. Interaction is minimal, think of it as a front-row seat to a TV program that just happens to run on your console. The game operated as a subscription service from 2006 to 2009 before being phased out. While the PS3 version is mostly lost to time, the PSP port lingers in limited playable form. Emulated versions let users bypass online restrictions, but most features remain locked. Niche and ahead of its time, it carved a small but dedicated audience. With no direct modern equivalents, it’s a forgotten oddity that some still fondly reference in retro gaming circles.

Storyline

Mainichi Issho featured a live broadcast service called Toro Station, in which Toro and Kuro presented a news show which covered various topics. Most of what was covered were various new video games for Playstation consoles, but they also covered other subjects like promoting local Japanese businesses or sports and science related news. These broadcasts were delivered on a roughly daily basis, and were moved to Weekly Toro Station after Mainichi Issho's service ended.
