Mario Artist: Talent Studio lets you design 3D characters from scratch tweaking hair skin eye color clothing and body shapes. Use these creations in short animated films where you control actions by pressing the Z button to trigger events. A separate add on lets you import real world images into your projects expanding the possibilities. This 64DD exclusive predates the Mii system by years offering deeper customization than later character makers. The ability to blend player created content with external footage was ahead of its time though the niche hardware limited its reach. Small but dedicated retro communities still praise its creative tools over two decades later.
