Marvel Heroes is a 3D action-platformer that lets you take control of Marvel characters in a series of over-the-top combat and traversal challenges. Each level mixes hand-to-hand combat with timed leaps and environmental interactions, all set in locations inspired by the Marvel Universe. The single-player campaign follows a straightforward hero arc, balancing story moments with repetitive boss fights and scrolling brawls. As the fourth title for the HyperScan, Marvel Heroes leans into the console’s niche appeal with its fast-paced action and licensed characters. Its mix of platforming and combat worked for the system’s motion controls but didn’t stand out compared to other Marvel games of the era.
