Megami Tensei Chaining Soul: Persona 3 is a mobile puzzle game that swaps traditional combat for a grid-based matching system. Developed by Bbmf Corporation and published by Atlus, it tasks you with clearing orbs to weaken shadowy foes. Match colored orbs in chains to call upon Personas, powerful otherworldly beings that unleash heavy-hitting attacks. Each stage gives you a limited time to defeat enemies before the game ends. The more complex your chains, the longer you extend the clock. Spell orbs with pentagram symbols add another layer by triggering special abilities when matched. While it leans heavily into the Bejeweled formula, the Persona series' signature style and chaining mechanics bring some fresh energy. Released in 2007 for legacy mobile devices, it's a straightforward but polished entry in the franchise. Puzzle fans familiar with the series will appreciate the simplified yet strategic approach to battling shadows. The time pressure and combo-building create a tense rhythm that keeps each match engaging.
A puzzle game that functions much like the game Bejeweled, players are able to damage Shadows by destroying orbs. Through chaining colored orbs, players are able to summon Persona for greater amounts of damage. By defeating enemy shadows within a certain time limit, players are able to clear stages. If shadows are not defeated by the time the limit is reached, the game is over. By creating chains, players are able to lengthen the time limit. Special orbs also play a part in gameplay, such as spell orbs with pentagrams drawn on them that can activate special attacks.
