Mr. Cool is a fast-paced platformer where you navigate a pyramid-like grid by bouncing between colored tiles. Your goal is to repaint each section by landing on them, shifting colors as you move. The layout changes with each level, forcing quick thinking and precise timing. Controls are straightforward but the challenge ramps up sharply as patterns grow complex. Sierra On-Line's early design sensibilities shine through in tight mechanics and minimalist visuals. Released in late 1983, this DOS/Commodore/Atari title predates many of Sierra's later graphical adventures. The single-player format focuses strictly on reflexes and pattern recognition. While rudimentary by modern standards, the game's clean design and escalating difficulty have earned it a cult following among retro gaming circles. Its Q*Bert-like structure feels timeless in its simplicity, proving color-based puzzles can be just as engaging as they are frustrating.
