Mutant Night is a 1980s arcade shooter where you control a bubble-firing character navigating chaotic levels. You move left or right, shoot short-range projectiles in your facing direction, and jump to dodge enemy attacks. Levels are tight and fast, forcing you to memorize wave patterns and physics-based hazards. The goal is to reach a trapdoor at the end while surviving increasingly brutal enemy assaults. What sets it apart is its minimal platforming and stripped-down weapon system. Unlike later run-and-gun games, there's little in the way of multi-directional fire or area control.
