The story unfolds through environmental clues and audio logs left by previous visitors. Each decision impacts how the world reacts creating cause and effect that drives the experience forward. The 3DS and DS versions add new content and tweaks to the original DS release while keeping the core mystery intact. Despite its age the game’s minimalist design and atmospheric puzzles have held up well earning it a 83% on Metacritic. The portable format makes it easy to dip in and out of but the dense narrative and multi hour solve times may test patience. Fans of methodical problem solving over fast action will find the most value here.
