Naruto: Uzumaki Chronicles 2 follows a familiar formula of exploration and combat. Players tackle missions across a series of maps to earn points for character upgrades and ability unlocks. The single-player campaign continues the story after the Sasuke Recovery arc with Naruto clashing against a clan that uses puppet-based attacks. Combat blends melee strikes with elemental jutsu moves in a side-view beat-em-up format. PlayStation 2 players can switch between single or multiplayer modes to take down waves of enemies. The game leans heavily on established Naruto lore but adds minimal new content. Its progression system rewards repeated missions to max out stats and special moves. Multiplayer lets two players team up or fight separately for points. With a release date in 2006, it shows its age through basic visuals and repetitive enemy patterns. Still, fans of the series might appreciate the Shirogane clan storyline and the chance to play as multiple characters.
