NASCAR Racers throws you into high speed races where each vehicle has unique abilities that evolve during the race. Choose from five cars including one that becomes temporarily unbreakable and another that surges with sudden speed boosts. Navigate 20 tracks filled with oil slicks water puddles and debris that can wreck your ride. A follow truck appears periodically to refuel and repair damaged vehicles keeping you in the game just a little longer. Released in 2000 for PC and PlayStation the game supports split screen multiplayer for local competition. Its blend of powerup mechanics and environmental hazards creates unpredictable races that favor quick reflexes and smart risk taking. While the cartoonish visuals and dated physics show their age the split screen mode and fast pace make it a solid pick for quick rounds of chaotic racing.
