About

Omikron 2: Nomad Soul Exodus was a sequel project Quantic Dream planned after their first game. It would have jumped two hundred cycles forward into a world where a high city floats above ancient ruins and anti-gravity vehicles zip through the air. The Techno Religion dominates this society by pushing for the fusion of man and machine to free humanity from physical limits. Players likely would have explored this networked world while using shooting, fighting, and RPG mechanics to navigate the global transfer called The Great Migration. This title never saw the light of day because the team shifted focus to Heavy Rain after finishing Fahrenheit. Development moved briefly to next-gen consoles before getting scrapped entirely. It remains one of those interesting lost projects that fans discuss often. You can find plenty of forum posts analyzing what might have been if the project survived past 2001. The lore alone offers a fascinating look at how the studio was thinking about technology and society long before they made Heavy Rain.

Storyline

The Techno Religion, the official religion, has a major role in this new society. It preaches fusion of man and machine to free Mankind from its physical limits. Its main goal is to process The Great Migration: the global transfer of mankind to the network.
