About

Omnicron Conspiracy is a DOS/Amiga/Atari ST/STE adventure game where you play a Star Police Captain chasing a cosmic drug ring. The mission takes you from pyramid-covered planets to a tavern where you chat with a literal body named Betty, all while dodging droid assassins and real estate brokers who give you the creeps. The gameplay leans on text-based interaction and inventory puzzles, with a steady diet of absurd humor. You'll visit a temple that makes you feel buzzed just by walking in and uncover a conspiracy that somehow involves a giant artichoke. The tone balances dry wit with sci-fi weirdness. What sticks out is the storytelling's offbeat charm. The script leans into ridiculous scenarios without taking itself too seriously, letting sketchy brokers and cultists steal scenes. It's a retro adventure with a distinct voice, blending mystery and comedy in a universe where one mistake turns you into a vegetable. The game’s cult following isn’t just for nostalgia, its dialogue and pacing still land, even if the graphics look like they came from a 1980s printer.

Storyline

So here I am, riding herd on six planets, checking out the cultists, keeping an eye on the droid assassins... same old stuff. Then, the idiots downtown decide they want me to bust up an "intergalactic drug ring." But, it's not all bad. I do get to see Betty the Body at the Mind Zi tavern. And I get a little high just walking in the front door of the Mentant Temple. Some things never change, though--the scariest dudes I talk to are still real estate brokers. Like they say at the academy, you gotta look before you transport. One wrong move and a guy could end up an artichoke.
