"There's also a peculiar "store" button on the main menu that is currently closed at the time of this writing, which implies some form of DLC is in the works. While we don't really know what that could entail, there's the distinct possibility of new characters and levels on the horizon, which could be a good way to extend Peggle 2 in the same way Peggle Nights did -- I just hope microtransactions don't creep their way in eventually.Peggle 2 is ultimately the same basic concept as the original set of games, but it's still most definitely worth playing if you're a series fan. PopCap could have done so much more than they did, especially when you consider the generational leap, but the good news is Peggle fans will eat this up and fall in love all over again."

In Peggle 2, you fling balls at a grid of colored pegs to rack up points and complete levels. Orange pegs are required to finish each stage, while blue ones boost your score. Green pegs grant power-ups that can clear clusters or reset your shot. Each character you play as has a distinct trait that alters gameplay slightly, like extra lives or modified ball paths. The single-player campaign offers hundreds of stages, and local multiplayer lets friends take turns competing on the same screen. The game stands out for its polished mechanics and lighthearted charm. Its mix of strategy and luck keeps matches fresh, and the colorful cast of characters adds replay value. Community ratings highlight its accessibility and addictive scoring system. With simple controls and deep progression, it’s a quick pick-up that holds up over hours of play. The 2013 release still runs smoothly on modern consoles, making it a solid choice for puzzle fans looking for straightforward fun.
