PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale is a 2D brawler that pits PlayStation's most recognizable characters against each other in fast-paced fights. Players choose from a roster of over 20 fighters including Kratos, Ratchet and Clank, and Sackboy each with moves tailored to their original games. The action blends platforming elements with punch-based combat as you battle across stages inspired by iconic PlayStation worlds. Single-player modes include a story campaign where you face off against other heroes to stop a villain known as Polygon Man while online and local multiplayer let you compete head to head or team up for tag battles. The game stands out for its quirky mix of established icons and unexpected picks like Parappa the Rapper and Evil Cole MacGrath. Stages shift between environments from franchises like God of War and Uncharted adding variety to each match. Split-screen support for up to four players makes it a solid choice for couch co-op brawls. Though the 2012 release hasn't aged perfectly the chaotic fun and nostalgic appeal keep it a favorite among PlayStation fans looking for a lighthearted fighter.
A mysterious entity arrives and uses "time holes" to scatter everyone across different points in history of PlayStation. Heroes, during their journey, must overcome various hybrid versions of their worlds, encountering dangers still stronger than them and other characters, intent to discover this mysterious character and restore their worlds to a state of normalcy. Only one can reach the mysterious threat that awaits them and obtain its power. After a series of fights with other characters, the player discovers that Polygon Man is responsible for bringing all the characters together from their worlds and forcing them to fight each other in order to turn them into his minions. After Polygon Man is defeated, the player absorbs his power and their character returns to their own world, where they receive their own ending and is shown what they do with their newfound power (Good or Evil).
