About

Puyo Puyo Zurashi is a mobile puzzle game built around matching colored gelatinous blobs called puyo. Instead of the dropping-and-matching mechanics of earlier entries, players swap puyo on a 12x12 grid to create chains of four or more. Each level starts with a countdown, and failure to clear enough puyo before time expires leads to a game over. The lack of fever mode, a signature element of the series, shifts focus to precise planning over rapid bursts of action. This Japan-only Pocket PC title from 2006 stands out as a niche entry in the franchise. Its grid size and swap-based gameplay differ from prior Puyo Puyo titles, offering a tighter but less forgiving challenge. Despite its limited scope, it retains the series' core appeal through quick matches and strategic depth. Released alongside other mobile Puyo games, it remains one of the few entries never localized outside Japan.
