Rambo is a side-scrolling platform shooter that drops you into Vietnam’s jungles and swamps. Play as the titular character, battling everything from snakes and tigers to hostile guards in a mission to rescue POWs. The game blends action with puzzle-like map navigation, tracking markers to shift between levels vertically and horizontally. Combat revolves around collecting and managing six weapons, including a knife, bow, and grenades, though most have limited ammo you gather by defeating enemies. Health pickups and mission-critical items add layers to the challenge. What sets Rambo apart is its tight control over a chaotic mix of enemies and environments. The password save system lets you pick up where you left off, chatting with NPCs to restore progress. While the action can get frantic, the weapon upgrades and shifting terrain keep each run fresh.
