Repkiss is a visual novel about reconnecting with the past. Protagonist Souji returns to his childhood hometown after years away and runs into Kanade, a girl he once knew well. The story unfolds through dialogue choices and everyday interactions as their old friendship evolves into something more. Simple mechanics focus on conversation and relationship-building with multiple branching paths. Players navigate school life, shared memories, and hesitant romance through text-based decisions that shape the emotional tone. The game stands out for its understated storytelling and relatable character dynamics. With a runtime of around 20 hours and six distinct endings, it leans into quiet moments rather than dramatic twists. Community feedback highlights the natural dialogue and nostalgic atmosphere, though the lack of combat or action elements makes it a slow burn. Released in 2017, it remains a niche pick for fans of slice-of-life narratives with romantic undertones.
Souji moved back to his hometown and was excited at starting a new life there, even though he was a bit saddened that it wasn’t the same as before. He went out to the convenience store to do some shopping after moving in and met a pretty girl at the entrance. She called him 'Sou-kun', a nickname which he hadn't heard in a long time, and he realized that she was his childhood friend Kanade. He was surprised by how beautifully she had grown up. Their chance meeting spurred the revival of half-forgotten feelings.
