Resident Evil Requiem lands on February 27, 2026 as the ninth mainline entry from Capcom. You play this survival horror shooter on PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, or the new Nintendo Switch 2. The story splits between FBI analyst Grace Ashcroft and returning legend Leon S. Kennedy. They investigate a fresh bioterror outbreak inside a condemned hotel in Raccoon City. This setting revisits the dark history of the original incident decades later while Grace searches for answers about her mother, Alyssa. It is a single-player experience that blends tactical shooting with puzzle solving and deep narrative investigation.
Sessions involve managing scarce resources while navigating tight corridors filled with infected threats. You switch between Leon's agile combat style and Grace's analytical approach to uncover clues. Combat feels weighty as you aim, reload, and dodge in real time during intense encounters. The game forces you to solve environmental puzzles to unlock new areas or find key items needed for progression. You will spend time backtracking through the hotel to piece together the story of the outbreak. Controls feel responsive whether you are using a controller or keyboard. Each character offers distinct mechanics that change how you approach enemies and obstacles within the same map.
Critics and players have already marked this as a top title with a Twitch rank of #18 currently. The community moods skew heavily toward tense and engaged during peak play sessions. Review scores from early access indicate a strong reception among survival horror fans who value narrative depth. Average playtime sits around 18 hours for a standard run through the dual campaigns. Completion rates show most players finish both stories to see the full conclusion. Users on forums discuss the price point of $50.39 at Green Man Gaming as fair given the historical low of $57.37 seen previously. Achievement hunters are actively tracking down all 45 trophies available in this release.
This game works best for players who want a long single-player campaign with a strong focus on story. The price is reasonable at current discounts, and the achievement list offers plenty of extra goals. You get two distinct perspectives that flesh out the lore without feeling redundant. However, the resource management can feel punishing if you struggle with combat mechanics. Do not buy this expecting constant action since stealth and puzzle solving take up half your time. It is a solid entry for fans of the series who want to revisit Raccoon City one last time.
A dual-narrative between veteran agent Leon S. Kennedy and new FBI analyst Grace Ashcroft investigating a fresh bioterror outbreak at a condemned hotel in Raccoon City. Set decades after the original incident, the story revisits the city's dark history, with Grace seeking answers about her mother, reporter Alyssa Ashcroft.

Hey folks, I've added Resident Evil Requiem to my Steam curator page with one bloody severed thumbs up! This game is glorious nonsense that I ended up enjoying even more than I expected to! It was far creepier than I expected as well, and I have to hand it to the RE team, they did an amazing job. 👍

Finished Resident Evil Requiem last night. It doesn't quite reach the dizzy heights of Resident Evil 4, but it's definitely up there as a top 3 Resi game for me. Brilliant, constantly entertaining stuff.

If you are at all unaware of this, in Resident Evil Requiem you play as both the newly introduced rookie FBI agent Grace Ashcroft and series mainstay Leon "Silver Fox" Kennedy, and the game has you switching back and forth sequentially. Interestingly, both have wildly different playstyles.

Resident Evil Requiem was such a great game man, though Leon hated to see me pick up that controller and get his ass cooked 😂

Speaking of Resident Evil Requiem. Deeply funny to me that, after last week's HUNK event, I thought I finally understood all of the obscure characters here for the 30th. Only for Alyssa Ashcroft being a spinoff game character this whole time to rip out my spine like subzero
