SD Hero Soukessen throws you into a single player platform battle where tiny versions of famous tokusatsu heroes fight side by side. You control one character from franchises like Kamen Rider or Ultraman to clear stages filled with enemies and bosses. The gameplay feels fast as you jump across platforms, dodge attacks, and smash through waves of the evil squad mentioned in the title. Each hero brings their own moveset, so swapping characters changes how you handle combat situations throughout the game. Banpresto packed this Family Computer release with crossover chaos that never happens elsewhere. Since it features units from Gundam and Metal Heroes too, the roster feels surprisingly deep for a 8-bit era title. Players often talk about the difficulty spikes in later levels or how satisfying it is to finally defeat the big bad guys with a specific hero's special attack. It stands out as a rare example of official crossovers on Nintendo hardware that actually play well without feeling like a mess.
