Shien's Revenge is a vintage first-person shooter that plays like a side-scrolling action romp. You control a ninja named Shien who fights through waves of enemy soldiers and bizarre creatures using a combination of shurikens for long-range attacks and a dagger for close combat. The screen moves automatically left right or up down while you focus on mowing down targets. Your health is tracked by a set of candles that burn out as you take damage. Defeating enemies drops power-ups like rapid-fire boosters and scrolls that unleash screen-clearing explosives. Each level ends with a boss battle where you chip away at their health to advance. The game stands out for its frenetic pacing and mix of humanoid foes and surreal monster designs. While the fixed camera and limited movement might feel restrictive by modern standards the simplicity of its loop keeps it fast and accessible.
