Shinigami Kagyou: Kaidan Romance is a visual novel set in a world where youkai blend into human society. You play as a shinigami working for the Yomi corporation tasked with collecting souls under cover of night. The routine shifts when a boy who should have died appears alive prompting an investigation that pulls in rival shinigami factions. Choices and dialogue drive the narrative through supernatural intrigue and personal stakes. As part of the Kaidan Romance series Kuromon Sumi arc this 2013 PlayStation Portable title established a storyline continued in Shinigami Shogyou. With branching routes and multiple endings it balances corporate hierarchy among supernatural entities with character focused drama. Storyline

In a town where youkai exist unnoticed by humans the protagonist has a peculiar job as a shinigami. Among the shinigami's that deal with human deaths there are various companies with different scopes. The protagonist belongs to one such company called 'Yomi' and every night she goes out to steal the lives of humans. But one day a boy named Fujishiro Takumi that should have been killed shows up alive. The protagonist starts searching for a reason why he is still living. In order to get to the bottom of the mystery the other shinigami groups start to cooperate. And her blood soaked daily life starts to change.
