You can play as Jack O'Neill, Samantha Carter, Teal'c, or Daniel Jackson while fighting through alien threats in a single player campaign. The project also included multiplayer modes for those who wanted to team up with friends online. Players would have controlled their chosen character directly in combat situations across various missions tied to the show's lore. Development stopped in January 2006 due to a legal dispute between JoWooD Productions and the original developer Perception Pty. Nothing from the game ever saw release or received community ratings since it never launched. Fans of the franchise still talk about what might have been if the project had finished on time. The game remains an unfinished piece of Stargate history that disappeared before anyone could actually play it.
