Start the Party! by Supermassive Games is a collection of augmented reality mini-games for PlayStation 3. Developed as a launch title for the PlayStation Move, it uses the controllers and PlayStation Eye camera to create interactive party activities. Players can tackle single-player challenges or team up in co-op and multiplayer modes. Each mini-game mixes physical gestures with on-screen action, pushing players to use motion controls for tasks like catching objects or solving puzzles. Supermassive Games’ debut project was unveiled at the 2010 Game Developers Conference and released September 15, 2010. Bundled with the Move in select Asian regions, the game highlighted motion controls through social, short-form challenges. It launched in Europe on September 16 and North America on September 17, 2010. The focus on local multiplayer and accessibility made it a hit for groups seeking casual, physical fun with minimal setup.
