Syphon Filter Combat Ops is a portable shooter built around online multiplayer for the PlayStation Portable. It plays like a streamlined version of the series’ earlier entry Logan’s Shadow, but focuses entirely on competitive modes. Players can tweak maps using a rudimentary editor, adding or removing structures mid-match to shift tactics. The lack of a single-player mode and reliance on live servers made it feel niche from the start. The game’s servers shut down permanently in 2012, rendering its core mode inaccessible. Despite that, some archived community-hosted games still pop up. Combat Ops had a rare toolset for its time but never gained traction beyond a small crowd.
