The Playroom is a collection of bite-sized augmented reality games built around the PlayStation 4’s camera and DualShock 4. Each mini-game uses physical objects and motion controls to turn your room into a playground. One moment you’re racing toy cars with real-world physics, the next you’re flicking bottle caps like digital pool balls. The setup leans heavily on the hardware’s ability to track movement and recognize shapes, making it feel more like a tech demo than a traditional game. The biggest draw is its clever use of the PS Camera, which translates real-life actions into onscreen effects. While the strategic voting category feels off-brand for a lighthearted collection, the games themselves are polished and inventive. Released in 2013, it’s a solid showcase of early PS4 capabilities but lacks lasting depth. Best treated as a curiosity or a quick distraction if you own the required hardware.
