About The Saint Wife’s Newlywed Trials

The Saint Wife’s Newlywed Trials is a story-driven RPG set in a rural fantasy village. Developed by Delusion Endemic and published by Kagura Games, it released on November 15, 2025, for PC. You control Dirk, a former hero turned commoner, and his wife Marianne, a priestess adjusting to village life. The game blends turn-based dungeon crawls for Dirk with Marianne’s farming and social interactions. Progress hinges on balancing Dirk’s guild quests and combat with Marianne’s efforts to build a community. The narrative follows their struggle to find peace after abandoning royalty, with choices affecting relationships and village development. Ideal for fans of character-focused stories and hybrid gameplay.

Gameplay

As Dirk, you tackle guild requests in grid-based combat, using skills and equipment to defeat monsters. Sessions often involve navigating dungeons, managing gold, and upgrading gear. Between these, you switch to Marianne’s side, where you plant crops, gather resources, and chat with villagers to unlock quests. The village evolves through dialogue choices and resource allocation, with Marianne’s actions impacting Dirk’s quests and vice versa. Combat is methodical, requiring position shifts and status effects, while exploration emphasizes resource scarcity. A typical playthrough balances Dirk’s action-oriented tasks with Marianne’s slower, relationship-driven chores. Both perspectives tie into a shared progression system, with story outcomes shaped by player decisions.

What Players Think

PlayPile users rate it 8.7/10, with 45% completing the main story. Average playtime is 28 hours, and 62% finish within 35 hours. Community moods are split: 38% label it “cozy,” 29% “hopeful,” but 21% call it “slow.” Critics praise its “tender character arcs” but note “predictable dialogue.” Achievements total 47, with 35% of players earning 80%+ (average 72%). Reviews highlight the dual-perspective design but criticize pacing in the second act. 68% of players say the story “justifies the grind,” while 31% feel side quests drag. Price remains unlisted, but early access buyers report it as “standard for indie RPGs.”

PlayPile's Take

This game thrives for players who enjoy narrative-driven hybrids with meaningful choice systems. The dual protagonists add depth, though the slow pacing may deter action-focused gamers. With 47 achievements and a 28-hour average, it’s a mid-length RPG with replay value in branching decisions. At an estimated $29.99, it’s reasonably priced for its story and mechanics. Skip if you crave fast-paced combat or open-world exploration. Best suited for those who appreciate cozy village life mixed with tactical challenges. Worth a playthrough if you’re patient with its deliberate design.

Storyline

Dirk, the hero who saved the world, was granted the title of crown prince for defeating the Demon Lord. He was accompanied on his journey by Marianne, a priestess from the countryside. However, the future emperor isn't permitted to marry a commoner, so their fairy-tale ending was never meant to be. Nonetheless, unwilling to give up on Marianne, Dirk asks her to run away with him. Dirk abandons his status to marry Marianne, and they settle down together in a rural village. The two believe they can spend their days in modest peace, the chaos of the past a distant memory, but village life comes with its own struggles. Will the two be able to overcome these hardships and find true happiness?
