About

Torin's Passage is a point-and-click adventure game that tasks players with guiding a child through five interconnected realms to uncover hidden truths. Developed by Sierra On-Line in 1995, it balances whimsical visuals and simple puzzles for younger players while weaving a darker, layered narrative about fate and control. Each world presents distinct challenges requiring careful observation and logic to progress. The story unfolds through environmental storytelling and cryptic dialogue, letting players piece together the conflict between the Arch Authority and the protagonist. The game stands out for its clever dual tone, blending child-friendly aesthetics with themes of oppression and rebellion. Despite its age, the puzzle design remains engaging though some solutions can feel obscure. Community forums note its cult following among fans of classic adventure games, particularly those who appreciate its narrative depth. Available on PC, Mac, and DOS, it’s a relic worth revisiting for its bold storytelling and atmospheric worlds.

Storyline

Curse the quick thinking of the Arch Authority, snatching the child away before his doom was sealed. Had the lad been with the rest, surely my suffering would have ceased years ago. At last I have found him, but in a world of isolation and innocence. He has no idea of the twists and turns his life has taken thus far, nor the path I have planned for his very short future. Just let him try to discover the truth, and learn the secrets of Strata's five nested worlds. Watching his struggle will be an amusement. Facing him will be horribly wonderful.
