Transformers Universe brought the robot war to a third-person MOBA format where you controlled specific Transformers in team-based matches. Players chose their faction and jumped into battles against opponents of the opposing side. The game ran on PC and operated as a massively multiplayer online title that relied heavily on its beta testing cycles. Jagex opened the closed beta in March 2014 before moving to an open beta just months later. The project never reached a full commercial launch despite starting at Botcon back in 2011. Service ended abruptly in January 2015 while it was still technically in its beta phase. This short lifespan means the game is now something of a collector's curiosity rather than an active title to play today. Fans of the franchise who missed the window can only look back at screenshots and gameplay videos from that brief period. It remains a fascinating but incomplete entry in the Transformers gaming catalog.
