About

Triple Comando lets you and up to two friends take control of soldiers fighting through jungle terrain to sabotage a powerful weapon. Each player can switch between shooting, laying traps like mines and barbed wire, calling in air support, or dodging cover. The game blends fast gunplay with tactical decisions as teams block paths or clear obstacles mid-mission. Released in 1998 for retro platforms like the ZX Spectrum, it emphasizes teamwork over pure reflexes with its three-character co-op mode. What sets it apart is the emphasis on coordinated strategies rather than just blasting enemies. Players can disrupt foes by cutting wire fences or hiding behind terrain while planning attacks. Though buried in obscurity, its mix of real-time action and planning ahead feels ahead of its time for 90s arcade-style games. The story about a secret photonic cannon mission adds a layer of urgency without overcomplicating the straightforward combat loop.

Storyline

A South American government, after long negotiations and a great espionage activity, has managed to get hold of the TECNOLOGY POSITRONIC, a large photonic cannon whose power is superior to anything known. The POSITRONIC, coveted by many other countries, endangers the tense peace in the zone. The only solution is to destroy it at any cost and for this purpose a Vietnam veteran, Charlie Montinni, a weapons expert and fierce fighter, has been hired. His partners Humphrey Stallone and Billy Von Pettet will help him in such a risky mission. In TRIPLE COMMANDO you can be any of them and go into the jungle in search of the fearsome cannon.
