Wipeout HD delivers high speed hovercraft racing with a punch. Players zip through sleek tracks armed with missiles and shields, using both skill and aggression to overtake rivals. The single player campaign features career mode progression while online and split screen multiplayer lets up to four compete simultaneously. Handling is tight and responsive as you balance velocity with precision on technically challenging courses. The PS3 version polishes the series' visual style with smooth frame rates and detailed environments. Community favorites include the split screen mode which remains a party staple despite its 2008 release. While not the most graphically intense title today, the core racing mechanics hold up well with competitive replays driven by track mastery and tactical weapon use.
