"As a group, Abba sits alongside only a handful of the world's biggest acts - The Beatles, Queen, and perhaps only a couple of others - with the cross-generational, mainstream appeal to support a multiplayer music game like this. We'd wager even non-aficionados will be drawn in by the sheer strength of this most familiar and indestructible of pop music songbooks, and the variety of modes here, machine-tooled over many years of iteration and repetition for the long-running Let's Sing series, offer enough variety to engage just about anyone who's ever tapped their foot to any of these tracks, Developer Voxler took absolutely no chances here; Let's Sing Abba is exactly what you think it is. SingStar ABBA lets you belt out classic hits from the Swedish pop group. Using a compatible mic you earn points by matching the pitch of each note as you sing along. The game doesn’t track lyrics so focus stays on vocal accuracy rather than word for word perfection. Available on PlayStation 2 and 3 it supports solo play or team up with friends in split screen modes for some friendly competition. The lack of lyric recognition sets this apart from traditional karaoke, you can improvise or mess up the words without penalty as long as your pitch stays on target. Released in 2008 it’s part of the long running SingStar series known for its party friendly approach. While the track list leans heavily into ABBA’s biggest 70s hits the simple scoring system makes it accessible for casual singers and vocal pros alike.
