Bossa Studios

United Kingdom Founded 2010 Website

Originally founded in 2010 in London as Bossa Studios, Bossa Games is a BAFTA-winning game developer and publisher. Rebranded as Bossa Games and now fully remote, our studio is now focused on building groundbreaking “us against the world” multiplayer co-op experiences that can also be enjoyed solo - just like Lost Skies.

Bossa Studios at a Glance

Bossa Studios operates out of the United Kingdom and has been active in the industry from 2011 through 2025. The company functions as both a developer and publisher, with a catalog of 17 titles listed on PlayPile. Their work spans multiple genres, but they focus heavily on Indie games with 10 entries, followed closely by Simulator titles at nine games. They have also produced eight Adventure games, five Puzzle games, and four Role-playing games. Most of their releases target PC platforms, appearing on Microsoft Windows in 13 cases. Mac support is available for five games, while iOS, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 each host four or fewer titles. The studio released 12 games during the 2010s but only four in the 2020s so far. Their output quality shows a clear trend toward solid performance with occasional high points. The average IGDB rating for their 11 rated titles sits at 65.1 out of 100. This score reflects a mix where seven games fall into the good range between 60 and 79. Only one title achieved a great rating above 80, which is Purrfect Date from 2017. They have three games rated in the mixed category between 40 and 59, but no titles score below that threshold. Top performers include Surgeon Simulator 2013 at 74.6, Deep Dungeons of Doom at 74.2, and Worlds Adrift Island Creator at 70. More recent efforts like I Am Fish from 2021 hold a 67.8 rating. The sequel Surgeon Simulator 2 from 2020 also scored 68.8. The studio rebranded as Bossa Games and moved to a fully remote model while shifting focus toward multiplayer co-op experiences that can be played solo. Recent upcoming releases include Don't Get Got in January 2025 and Lost Skies in September 2025. Their history shows a consistent presence in the simulator space, though their total game count remains relatively small compared to larger industry players.
