Saikey Studios

United States Website

Saikey Studios is an American publishing company specialized in the translation and distribution of Japanese video games and manga into English and Chinese. It started as a small group of passionate engineers and translators that saw a huge lack of fun Japanese media being brought to the western side of the world. Because of the huge costs of translations, small developers didn’t have a chance to sell their games to western fans. We simply decided to change that. After becoming popular among the fan translation community, developers recognized our work and we became official translators of many popular video games.

Saikey Studios at a Glance

Saikey Studios is an American publisher based in the United States that has released thirty-one titles on PlayPile since 2021. The company operates strictly as a publisher with no credited developer roles in their catalog. Their entire output consists of games from the 2020s, with all thirty-one releases occurring between 2021 and 2026. They focus heavily on PC for Microsoft Windows, where every single title is available. Only two games each are listed for Linux and Mac platforms. The studio specializes in Role-playing games, which make up twenty-one of their thirty-one releases. Adventure titles follow with eighteen entries, while Indie games account for seventeen. They also publish six Visual Novels, five Simulators, two Strategy games, and single titles in the Fighting, Point-and-click, Shooter, and Tactical genres. Their recent schedule shows a steady flow of releases through late 2025 and into mid-2026. Titles like Magical Princess Lily, The Reason for Your Smile, Living With a Little Fox Girl, Detective Araka, and A Simple Life with My Unobtrusive Sister illustrate their current focus on niche Japanese media brought to English and Chinese audiences. Saikey Studios began as a group of engineers and translators who noticed a gap in the Western market for fun Japanese video games and manga. They started by addressing the high costs that prevented small developers from selling their work outside Japan. This approach grew into official translation partnerships after they gained popularity within the fan translation community. While they have maintained a consistent output over five years, their catalog remains relatively small compared to major industry players. The data shows they are still in the early stages of building a library, with all activity concentrated in the current decade. Their business model relies on localization rather than original creation, making them a bridge for specific titles from Japan that might otherwise remain unavailable in the West.
