Square Osaka was created partly from the ashes of Xtalsoft. At the same time they were forming as a formal subsidiary to Square, they were developing Final Fantasy Legend III. After an internal restructuring at Square Co., Ltd. they would reorganize this company as Square Product Development Division 5.
